Crepe myrtle can be shaped into an easy care flowering bonsai. In this workshop we will be styling “Pokomoke” dwarf crepe myrtle trees. This cultivar flowers pink in late summer and is easy to work with by pruning or light wire-shaping. We will review examples of root-over-rock bonsai at the nursery to help inform student compositions. An appropriate stone will be selected to blend with the tree. A pleasing rock planting is the goal of this workshop.
